My husband has seen my house, but he has no idea what a great job I’m doing. I think if I had my druthers, he would be on my side. I don’t know why people think that I’m not doing it right. Good thing people are so quick to look at your website, because if you are doing it wrong you can end up getting fired or in trouble with your company (and probably worse). We have a client who has been in the home and paint business since 2001. His website is a mess, but his business has been thriving since he has started this new side of his life.
He has actually been in the paint business since 2002 and he has built a successful business. It is not so much the paint products that are failing, it is his website. It doesn’t look great. It doesn’t look like he has a good design; it looks like he took a photo of an oil painting he thinks looks great and has then stretched out and added a few details. He feels good about his website, but he can’t help but feel bad for his company.
I think what we are seeing here is a really great example of bad design. At its core, a good design is not about adding or subtracting text. It is about making something useful to the user, and that is what good design does. But his website is full of non-functional and unuseful “design” features. It is just not a good site. He’s doing a great job of building a new business, but it looks like he is taking a step back.
I think the main reason is the way his website is designed. The web is not designed to be all business and people are not allowed to talk about what they are doing or what things they are doing.
The primary reason website design is so confusing is because it is often assumed that users want to communicate with each other; which they really don’t. The site in question is just an invitation to play a game. A visitor is not trying to tell the website what to do. He is just inviting the website to play a game. It is a perfectly fine site, just not one that the user actually wants to use.
The problem is that this makes site design a lot more difficult because site design is all about presenting information to the visitor. The visitor wants to be invited to interact in some way, so he has to know what to do. As a result, site design is often the wrong place for this to occur.
