Scientists have a lot of jobs, so much that they’re not even real scientists. They have jobs, but those jobs can take them anywhere from one day to a year to get. With that being said, there are some scientists that have to work long hours and are at their very best when they’re in their sleep.
A few years ago I was part of a study that looked at the effects of being on the road for a year or longer.
Most scientists have to take to the road, which doesn’t make for pleasant travel. In fact, it can be downright dangerous. So the scientists in the study chose to take a year off and spend a year doing some research. Some of the scientist had to travel to Antarctica to observe and study a volcano, and others had to look for a new job. The study of the volcano had the scientists in Antarctica working on the volcano for one year.
The study of the volcano had me thinking about a very interesting quote from the book of Job. Job 26: “This is what you get for all the money in the world, a pain in the ass to work in, and no one to talk to, no one to hold your hand, no one to tell you you’re doing a good job, no one to say ‘I told you so.
