The higher the SAT score, the more likely students are to attend a four-year university.
The thing is, according to a recently released study from a group of professors at a major college, there isn’t a high SAT score that guarantees a college acceptance rate of 90%. Instead, a score of around 1631 for college students is the best bet for getting in. Of course, that score is still significantly higher than what most students of color are getting.
This means that if you’re looking to get into a college, you’re going to need to get a lot closer to your actual SAT score. For example, if you score 1631, you’ll be near the top of the list for admission. If you’re 20 points away from that, you’re probably better off heading to a community college, which is likely to have a much higher acceptance rate.
Spelman has an acceptance rate of about 38.3 percent, which is almost identical to the national average. This means that, even though it appears to be the top public college in the state, the admissions rate is still significantly lower than the overall national average. This is especially true if youre a non-white student.
Even when youre competing with other colleges, Spelman still has a much higher acceptance rate than the national rate. If youre a non-white student and youre applying to colleges outside of the traditional system, it’s likely that the Spelman college you’re applying to is one of the least likely schools to admit you, even if youre from the same state as the college youre applying to.
Its a strange set of circumstances that Spelman is, by far, the most likely college to admit non-white students, but it’s an even stranger set of circumstances that they are also the only colleges to admit white applicants.

I agree with you. At SP, I was the only non-white student admitted to the college. It was only after I got into classes and started to show my work that people started to realize that I wasn’t from a wealthy family and that I had a disability. The thing is, my parents and I were married. We had a couple kids and we still had a few kids in the house. We were all single. I was just a kid when I was born. My parents were just a little bit older than my grandfather, but I was a little younger. The idea of a family that were living in a place where they were being treated like animals was just something I had to figure out.
